Susan Compton is responsible for the comfort, well-being and satisfaction of each resident of Vi at La Jolla Village. She oversees every aspect of the community, including the quality of service, amenities, programs and care provided to residents. Susan earned her master's degree in health law and her doctorate in health science.
Eric Popejoy is responsible for operational accounting for Vi at La Jolla Village. He oversees all accounting functions and is responsive to resident accounting requests and questions. Eric's experience in accounting and finance includes extensive experience in the health care industry.
As Executive Chef, Jim Smith oversees every aspect of the culinary program for Vi at La Jolla Village, including menu creation and food preparation. Jim's culinary expertise includes extensive experience with Hyatt Hotels and 5-star dining venues. He has received customized training provided by The Culinary Institute of America on nutrition, healthy cooking and baking techniques, flavor dynamics and food and wine pairing. Jim completed the certified executive chef program with the American Culinary Federation. He is also a certified dietary manager and certified food protection professional.
Larry Sangis is responsible for every aspect of the dining experience at Vi at La Jolla Village, from table reservations and settings to the personalized service each resident receives. His extensive hospitality experience and background are suited to serving our discerning resident clientele.
Jas Podgurski is responsible for maintaining every aspect of the setting at Vi at La Jolla Village. He is dedicated to maintaining this richly designed environment. Jas has been recognized numerous times for his leadership by the Building Owners and Managers Association International.
Bibiana Valenzuela oversees the housekeeping function for each resident's home as well as the community areas at Vi at La Jolla Village. With more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Bibiana is committed to our resident experience.
Theresa Weber enhances both resident and employee satisfaction through oversight and management of the human resources function at Vi at La Jolla Village. She recruits and develops top employees who have a passion for working with older adults. Theresa earned her master of business administration degree in human resources and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the National Human Resources Association.
Connie Coe oversees lifestyle programs designed for residents, such as social and community involvement, participatory and spectator events, creative and educational coursework, lecture series, travel clubs, book reviews, fitness classes and more. In this role, Connie creates and implements lifestyle-enriching programs that contribute to each resident's whole-person wellness.
As Director of Resident Services, Robin Margulies-Adler ensures that each resident is receiving the appropriate level of services and care and addresses the questions of residents and their family members. Robin promotes a healthy, enriching environment at Vi at La Jolla Village. Robin is a licensed clinical social worker and earned her master of social work degree from the State University of New York.
As Sales Director, Kelly Parkins promotes the benefits of senior living at Vi at La Jolla Village to older adults and their family and friends. Kelly manages the sales team and represents Vi to the larger community. She also serves as a resource to community organizations on the topics of senior living and continuing care. Kelly has more than 20 years of experience in the retirement and senior living industry.
