Stephanie Boudreau is responsible for the comfort, wellbeing and satisfaction of each resident of Vi at La Jolla Village. She oversees every aspect of the community, including the quality of service, amenities, programs and care provided to residents. Stephanie earned her BA degree in Speech Communication at California State Long Beach. She has extensive experience in managing skilled nursing facilities. Throughout her career, Stephanie has been recognized with several awards and accomplishments for improving physical plant and clinical care quality.
Alan Shigley oversees the Care Center at Vi at La Jolla Village, from the quality of the resident experience and care to communications with family members. Alan and his multidisciplinary team in the Care Center at Vi at La Jolla Village work with residents and their families and physicians to develop a plan of care. Alan is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator who completed his education with the University of Phoenix where he earned his Master's of Business Administration with an emphasis in Health Care Management (MBA/HCM). He has nine years of experience as a Health Care Administrator.
As Executive Sales Director, Kelly Parkins manages the sales team and represents Vi to the larger community. She also serves as a resource to community organizations on the topics of senior living and continuing care. Kelly has more than 20 years of experience in the retirement and senior living industry.
Jas Podgurski, CEOE, is responsible for maintenance at Vi at La Jolla Village. Jas has been recognized numerous times for his leadership by the Building Owners and Managers Association International.
Eric Popejoy is responsible for operational accounting for Vi at La Jolla Village. Eric's experience in accounting and finance includes extensive experience in the health care industry.
Bibiana Valenzuela, CHHE, oversees the housekeeping function for each resident's home as well as the community areas at Vi at La Jolla Village. She has more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
Steven began his career working as a cook for a fine foods market in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. He built on his experience and was soon advanced to assistant to the Catering Manager. In 2003 Steven accepted a position with as the Dining Room Director, where he spent five years in management positions in a very active resort-style retirement community. Most recently Steven worked as a department head of Food & Beverage operations at Mount Vernon Country Club near Golden, Colorado.
Theresa Weber oversees the human resources function at Vi at La Jolla Village. Theresa earned her master of business administration degree in human resources and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the National Human Resources Association.
Kathleen DeLeo oversees resident services at Vi at La Jolla Village. Kathleen earned her master of Social Work and Public Health with a specialization in gerontology from Boston University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has extensive experience working with older adults.
As Executive Chef, Jim Smith oversees the culinary program for Vi at La Jolla Village, including menu creation and food preparation. Jim's culinary expertise includes extensive experience with Hyatt Hotels and five-star dining venues. He has received customized training provided by the Culinary Institute of America on nutrition, healthy cooking and baking techniques, flavor dynamics and food and wine pairing. Jim completed the certified executive chef program with the American Culinary Federation. He is also a certified dietary manager and certified food protection professional.
Mellany Hanson oversees lifestyle programs designed for residents, such as social and community involvement, participatory and spectator events, creative and educational coursework, lecture series, travel clubs, book reviews and fitness classes. Mellany is a healthcare executive with extensive industry experience developing programs and initiatives that improve health and wellness and focus on improving customer satisfaction and relationships. She has an undergraduate degree in Adult Fitness, which focused on exercise and nutrition and a Master's Degree in Gerontology. She recently completed two health information technology certifications that focus on electronic health records and healthcare reform.
