Penny Pritzker, chairman of Vi, founded the company more than 20
years ago to bring a high level of service and hospitality to
later-stage living. Today, the company develops and operates
lifestyle communities nationwide that are dedicated to enriching
the lives of older adults.
Penny Pritzker is also Chairman and CEO of Pritzker Realty
Group, the developer of Chicago's Hyatt Center; chairman of
TransUnion Corporation, a credit data and information management
business; chairman of The Parking Spot, an off-site airport
parking management company; and chairman of Artemis Real Estate
Partners, a private equity real estate investment manager. She sits
on the board of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Dedicated to improving Chicago's public education system,
Pritzker is chairman of the Chicago Public Education Fund and a
founding board member of Young Women's Leadership Charter
School. Through the Pritzker Traubert Family Foundation, Penny
Pritzker and her husband, Dr. Bryan Traubert, fund various
innovative programs to improve Chicago's schools.
Pritzker is a member of the Civic Committee of the Commercial
Club, is on the board of the Council on Foreign Relations and is an
advisory board member of the Brookings Institution's Hamilton
Project.
Pritzker is a member of the President's Economic Recovery
Advisory Board which evaluates economic policy for the Obama
Administration. She served as National Finance Chair for the
Barack Obama presidential campaign and was co-chair of the 2009
Presidential Inauguration Committee.
Pritzker earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard
University and J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Stanford
University.
