From downhill skiing and swimming to tai chi and tennis, modern-day seniors enjoy playing sports of their formative years as well as adopting new exercises to boost their vitality and skirt the aging process. Older adults living at Classic Residence by Hyatt communities are immersed in opportunity to enhance their physical wellness-with routines primarily focusing on strength- and balance-building exercises.

On Wednesday, May 26, 2010, Classic Residence by Hyatt residents and employees will join approximately 100,000 older adults to celebrate the nation's largest senior health event, the 17th annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day. Held annually on the last Wednesday in May as part of Older Americans Month, older adults across the country will take part in health and fitness activities hosted by a variety of public and private organizations.

"National Senior Health & Fitness Day is a big day for Classic Residence by Hyatt, one that we look forward to with great anticipation each year," says Julie Stevens, director of lifestyle enrichment, Classic Residence by Hyatt. "The vigor and healthy outlook of our residents is inspiring-and this day provides the perfect opportunity to honor their commitment to wellness and have a lot of fun together."

Building on its commitment to the health and wellness of older adults, Classic Residence by Hyatt communities will observe the day with walking programs, exercise clinics, demonstrations, speakers, and wellness classes. A sampling of Classic Residence by Hyatt festivities on May 26 includes:
