Vi at Silverstone Welcomes New Care Center to Arizona Community

Vi at Silverstone, a Vi and Plaza Companies Community is proud to announce the opening of its technologically advanced Care Center.  Vi at Silverstone opened its doors as Scottsdale's newest continuing care community in September and now opens the doors to its Care Center.  Located at  22605 North 74th Street, the new Care Center will provide assisted living, Alzheimer's/memory support and 24-hour skilled nursing care for residents of the continuing care community as well as for older adults living outside the Vi community.

The Care Center offers residents a supportive environment in which to pursue their lifestyle goals. This support includes a multidisciplinary team consisting of a medical director, director of nursing, licensed nurses, social worker, nutrition manager and lifestyle manager. From monitoring nutritional needs to offering a variety of fitness classes and lifestyle activities, the Care Center's goal is to help older adults live life to its fullest.

With the opening of the Care Center, Vi at Silverstone joins its sister community, Vi at Grayhawk, in delivering individualized care that encourage self-sufficiency and personal engagement.  "Our programs, services and amenities allow residents to maximize their independence so they can enjoy life to its fullest," said Kay Schultz, Care Center Administrator and registered nurse. Assisted Living

"Vi's approach to assisted living is rooted in providing personal care and attention in a setting that maximizes independence while promoting healing and well-being," said Gail Rankin, executive director of Vi at Silverstone. "Our new Care Center was carefully planned to make sure our residents feel at home here and their needs are addressed in a personal and gracious way." The skilled staff provides assisted living support to residents who require help with their daily activities such as dressing, eating, bathing, and medication management.

Skilled Nursing

The skilled nursing program at the Care Center accommodates residents who may require concentrated rehabilitation, are recovering from surgery or illness, or need long-term skilled nursing care. Whether receiving short-term restorative support or long-term care, the registered and licensed nurses work with the residents, their families, and their physicians to develop a plan of services and care that includes appropriate wellness programs and activities.

Memory Support

The center's memory support program is designed to enhance the health and wellbeing of residents with mild to moderate Alzheimer's and related cognitive conditions. Compassionate professionals provide individualized supervision or assistance to help meet social, emotional and physical needs. Additionally, the memory support suites are equipped with readily recognizable memory cues that use sight, sound and aroma to help orient residents.  Each suite is decorated with the individual's furniture and personal comforts of home to help instill a sense of familiarity into the surroundings.

Similar to the rest of the community, the Care Center's décor offers marble floors and vibrant colors to help ensure residents enjoy beautiful surroundings while receiving care. In addition to the 270 independent living villas and apartment homes in the Silverstone community, the Care Center features 60 private suites, including 24 suites in assisted living, 12 suites in memory support and 24 suites in skilled nursing. Each suite is specially designed to maximize natural lighting with large windows and garden views so residents can enjoy the beauty of Vi's exquisite community.
