Vi at Grayhawk’s memory support unit offers a comfortable, structured environment designed to enhance the social, emotional and physical well-being of residents with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s and related cognitive conditions.
Our soothing and relaxing residential setting is equipped with readily recognized memory cues to help orient residents and instill a sense of familiarity. All of these tools have a purpose: to stimulate memory and provide residents with meaningful experiences.
Our licensed staff of compassionate caregivers are here 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And because our care center is on site, memory support residents are never far from the community of friends and family they love.
Our memory support staff meets with family members and creates a customized care plan with specialized programs and services designed to meet each resident’s unique needs.
In addition to this person-centered care approach, we offer a range of services and amenities, including daily housekeeping service, personal laundry, and laundering of bed and bath linens.
Even meal time is designed to be easier for memory support residents, with carefully selected, easy-to-handle menu items and tablecloths, napkins and tableware in contrasting colors to decrease confusion. Plus, all meals are prepared with care under the supervision of our executive chef.
Each private residential suite features a Life Story box to help residents identify their rooms and reminisce about their lives daily.
Common areas are designed to foster daily connections, stimulate memory and offer meaningful experiences. Two comfortable great rooms encourage social interaction among residents and their families. We also have a specially designed secure Memory Garden that features interactive musical instruments, standing planters, stimulating art, and a paved walking path, which allow residents to enjoy the familiar sights and sounds of the outdoors.
Our home-like kitchen and dining areas offer comfortable surroundings to enjoy meals together.
We offer a variety of activities designed to engage memory support residents:
- Walking, dancing and structured exercises to maintain muscle strength and flexibility
- Montessori Method–based activities to support motor skills and concentration, as well as build self-esteem
- Social hours for residents to share memories, tell stories and reminisce
- Scheduled outings and activities
Residents who are contracted with Vi for continuing care will continue to pay their independent living monthly fee after moving to our care center. Monthly fees do not change when residents move to a higher level of care, but ongoing, community-wide fee increases will continue to apply. There are charges for ancillary items and additional meals received while in our care center.
If a resident and their spouse are both contracted for continuing care and only one requires a higher level of care, one spouse will remain in independent living while the other moves to our care center. Both residents will continue to pay the monthly fee paid while residing in independent living. Their monthly fees will not change because of a move to a higher level of care, but ongoing, community-wide monthly fee increases will continue to apply. In addition, there are charges for ancillary items and additional meals received while in our care center.
For non-CCRC residents, costs for direct entry to our care center are charged at the current market rates.
We accept Traditional Medicare (Parts A & B) and Private Pay, and where the circumstances allow, we can process payment from other participating third-party or private insurance coverages.
