Vi at La Jolla Village offers an array of attractions nearby
Every day of the year, residents of Vi at La Jolla Village can embrace its three W’s: weather, walking distance and world class destinations.

“San Diego has one of the best year-round climates in the country,” said Community Relations Manager Theresa Latosh. “Vi’s location in San Diego allows you to take full advantage. We’ve got restaurants, movie theaters – even the post office and cleaners are all in walking distance.”

Whether it’s a dash to the grocery store to pick up a must-need item or a stroll to the local Starbucks to enjoy a cappuccino with friends, residents can take advantage of the places they’re used to frequenting on a daily basis – and many are just short walks away.

“And if you don’t feel like walking, we provide transportation free of charge to many well-known attractions within a 15 mile radius,” Latosh explained.

According to Latosh, there’s a host of destinations near the community that allow residents to keep an active and engaged lifestyle year-round. And whether they’re walking, taking Vi transportation, or using their own vehicles, the options can seem endless .

When it comes to nearby attractions, there are a bevy of options available to take your guests, grandkids, or new favorite neighbors. With nearby key transportation hubs including The San Diego International Airport and The B Street Cruise Ship Terminal, getting to and from Vi at La Jolla Village is a breeze.

Family friendly attractions like the world famous San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Old Town San Diego and the USS Midway Museum are also within close proximity. For those who love the outdoors, the coastlines of La Jolla Cove and Torrey Pines State Reserve and the landscapes of Balboa Park are a short ride away. And you can’t forget about San Diego’s renowned cultural institutions like The San Diego Opera, The San Diego Symphony, The La Jolla Playhouse, The Old Globe Theater and The San Diego Museum of Art.

“The entertainment is the fun part,” Latosh said, “but we also offer much needed transportation to nearby doctors and hospitals that can provide specialized care to our residents.”

UCSD’s prestigious Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and Shiley Eye Center, along with many hospitals including Scripps Memorial, Scripps Green and the VA Hospital are also all within 15 miles.

“That’s not to say there isn’t plenty to do right on campus,” said Latosh. Vi at La Jolla Village programs a robust calendar of events to keep residents physically, mentally and socially stimulated. “We have 36 different exercise classes every week, from tai chi and yoga to strength training and aqua aerobics,” Latosh explained. “We offer lectures, book groups and play reading. And if you have a hobby that’s not on the calendar, you only need to find 10 people to show interest for us to include it. Someone moved in and wanted to have a ukulele class. We went out and found a ukulele teacher and it’s now a monthly event.”
