1. Overview

Classic Residence Management Limited Partnership, an Illinois limited partnership d/b/a Vi, its affiliates, and those working on its behalf (collectively, "Vi," "we" or "us") provide this Privacy Policy to help you understand what information we collect about and from you, how we collect it, how we use it, with whom we may share it, and what choices you have regarding it. This Privacy Policy applies to the Vi website located at viliving.com and Vi's social media pages, including without limitation Facebook (collectively, the "Sites"), and constitutes a part of the Terms of Use that also applies to the Sites (the "Terms of Use"). We encourage you to become familiar with the terms and conditions of both this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use. If you have any questions about the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use or the Sites, please contact us at editorial@viliving.com.

2. Acceptance of Privacy Policy

Each time you access, use, or browse a Site, or provide information to us through a Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the then-current Privacy Policy and the privacy practices it describes. If you do not accept this Privacy Policy, you are not authorized to access, use or browse the Sites, or to provide information to us, and must discontinue use of the Sites immediately.

Should this Privacy Policy be revised, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on the Sites and the revised Privacy Policy will be effective immediately upon posting. Any material changes in the manner that we use personally identifiable information will apply only to information collected thereafter, unless we provide you with notice or have other communications with you in accordance with applicable law. You can determine when the Privacy Policy was last revised by referring to the “Last Revised” legend at the top of this page.

The Sites are intended for use by persons eighteen years of age or older. We do not target the Sites to appeal to children under the age of thirteen and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen.

3. What Information Do We Collect?

Personal Information

In connection with your use of the Sites, we collect identifying information about yourself, including but not limited to your name, birth date, street address, telephone number, email address, company name, title, emergency contacts, caregiver information, financial information and other personally identifying information and preferences (the "Personal Information"), which you or others may provide to us. We may use the Personal Information in the manner described in this Privacy Policy below.

Non-Personal Information

Like many other websites, the Sites may also collect certain non-personally identifiable information about you and about the equipment and communications methods that you use to access the Internet and the Sites, including but not limited to your IP address, MAC address, Site usage, type of device you use to connect to the Sites, type of operating system you use (e.g., Microsoft Windows, Google Chrome OS or Mac OS), type of browser you use (e.g., Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari), the domain name of your internet service provider (ISP), and information regarding your Internet location when you see our ads and whether you click on such ads (collectively, "Non-Personal Information"). In addition, we may collect information from or about you, including but not limited to your password, visits to our communities, reservations to join activities, information collected through security systems, information collected through questionnaires and surveys, education level, occupation, ethnicity, marital status, homeowner status and shopping habits, and data from our affiliates or our advertising partners and other third parties. We may combine components of Non-Personal Information with other sources of information, which may include Personal Information about you. In the event that such information is maintained in a manner that identifies the name of, or contact information for, the individual to whom such information relates, it will be treated as Personal Information; otherwise, such information will treated as Non-Personal Information.

Location Information

We may collect and process information about your general or actual location based on your IP address, Wi-Fi access points, and other geo-location technologies. We may use this information to customize your Site experience or to send you push notifications.

Retargeting and Online Behavioral Advertising

Retargeting uses Non-Personal Information to remind you on other websites that you were browsing our Sites previously with the goal to bring you back to our Sites. We, or our authorized partners (such as Google), may use Non-Personal Information collected on the Sites for online behavioral advertising purposes including retargeting and to customize ads to you when you visit other (non-Vi) sites. If you wish to opt-out of this process, click the OBA logo on our banner advertisements. You will be directed to an opt-out page where you'll be able to select your data preferences.

Cookies and Anonymous Identifiers

Also, we automatically receive and record Non-Personal Information on our server logs from your browser as well as through other analysis of the Sites. We also may collect information using cookies, web beacons, pixels, gifs, tags or other technologies ("Collection Technology"), or through third parties using similar technologies. Collection Technology may operate as a piece of data stored on your browser or device, or may identify, compile, aggregate and/or collect information through other means. When you visit the Sites, your web browser may use Collection Technology to provide you with a personalized experience during your visit and upon your return. Collection Technology also may be used by some other websites for which a link is placed on the Sites or in advertisements that may appear on the Sites. We may combine Non-Personal Information that we collect through Collection Technology with Personal Information and, if so, we will treat the combined information as Personal Information. If you choose, you may set your Internet browser preferences and options so as to reject or delete certain Collection Technology. You may use the Sites even if you choose to do so.

Analytics

The Sites may use Google Analytics or other analytics services. Google Analytics uses Collection Technology to collect and store anonymous information about you, which may include the Non-Personal Information described above. You can read Google Analytics’ privacy policy and Google Analytics' Terms of Use. You can also opt-out from being tracked by Google Analytics in the future by downloading and installing Google Analytics' Opt-out Browser Add-on for your current web browser.

We work with certain service providers that help us track, collect and analyze this information. Learn more about this practice to know your choices about not having your information used by our service providers.

We also may disclose your IP address to our third party service providers who may use your IP address to capture more information about your visit and allow us to improve the quality of the website. These third party service providers may also match your IP address with their database to send you mail and email regarding Vi’s services. Each email will provide you a link to opt-out of receiving further emails.

You may control the data being collected about you by:

Some of our third-party advertisers or display networks may participate in the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising and allow consumers the ability to opt-out of targeted advertising based on web activity tracking. Please note that after clicking the link and following the instructions provided therein, even if our third party advertisers or display networks participate in the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising and you opt out of targeted advertising based on web activity tracking, you still may receive standard advertisements from us and targeted advertisements from third parties. Vi may use Non-Personal Information in any manner including facilitating Site operation and system administration, generating aggregate, non-identifiable statistical information, monitoring and analyzing Site traffic and usage patterns, analyzing online behavior and measuring the effectiveness of the Sites and our communications, presenting you with targeted content, improving online media, content, materials, applications, and services that we describe or make available on the Sites, and helping our advertising partners deliver ads.

5. With Whom Do We Share Information That We Collect?

We will not rent, sell or exchange your Personal Information with any third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We may share your Personal Information as follows:

We may disclose Personal Information as authorized by you, including without limitation to specified family members or caregivers. We may disclose information about you if we become subject to a subpoena or court order, or if we are otherwise legally required to disclose information, or as otherwise permitted by law. We may also disclose information about you to establish or exercise our legal rights, to enforce the Terms of Use, to assert and defend against legal claims, or if we believe such disclosure is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take other action regarding actual or suspected illegal or fraudulent activities or potential threats to the physical safety or well-being of any person.

As Vi continues to grow and develop its business, it is possible that its corporate structure may change, or that it may merge or otherwise combine with another company, or that it or its assets may be acquired by another company. In any such transaction, we may transfer Personal Information and Non-Personal Information to third parties.

We may share Non-Personal Information with others for any purpose. We may also produce reports on Site traffic or usage patterns and share these reports with third parties, but the information contained in these reports is anonymous and does not allow identification of any specific individual. Additionally, we may take Personal Information and de-identify it and share it in a de-identified or aggregated form with advertisers, business partners, and/or third parties. If we do so, we will ask our contracting parties to agree to keep the information in its de-identified form.

The Sites also may contain plugins for social media websites, such as Facebook, that involve passing of information. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies that apply to these plugins, prior to clicking on such plugins.

If you do not wish to receive any information, materials, advertisements or offers from Vi, you may notify us at editorial@viliving.com. Within a commercially reasonable time following our receipt of any such notice, we will take steps to assure that you will not receive any further communications from us of such a nature. You may not opt out of communications regarding your dealings with Vi, the Sites or technical information about the same.

Where you have provided us with the appropriate permissions, or where we are legally entitled to do so, we will provide you with marketing materials by email. You can opt out of receiving these emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the marketing email. 7. How Do We Protect Information Collected?

Vi takes commercially reasonable measures to protect information transmitted via or stored on the Sites and transmitted to and from the Sites. Nevertheless, no system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee that information that users of the Sites transmit to us will be totally secure. Vi is not liable for any damages or injury, perceived or actual, relating to any such security failure. You acknowledge that data and communications, including email and other electronic communications, may be accessed by unauthorized third parties when transmitted over the Internet. Any such transmission is at your own risk. You agree to notify us immediately if you become aware of any breach of Site security, this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Use.

8. Linked Websites

For your convenience, some hyperlinks may be posted on the Sites that link to other websites not under our control. We are not responsible for, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to, the privacy practices of those sites or of any companies that we do not own or control. We encourage you to seek out and read the privacy policy of each website that you visit. In addition, should you happen to initiate a transaction on a website that our Site links to, even if you reached that site through our Site, the information that you submit to complete that transaction becomes subject to the privacy practices of the operator of that linked site. You should read that website's privacy policies to understand how personal information that is collected from you at that website is used and protected.
