Vi President Randy Richardson named a Glassdoor Top CEO in 2019

CHICAGO, IL (June 19, 2019) President Randy Richardson of Vi, a leading national developer, owner and operator of high-end continuing care retirement communities, has been awarded a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award honoring the Top CEOs in 2019. Glassdoor, one of the world’s largest job and recruiting sites, released its annual list recognizing Top CEOs, highlighting the 100 top leaders who employees love working for. Among chief executives recognized in the U.S., Richardson ranked number 19 and received an impressive approval rating of 96 percent based on anonymous and voluntary reviews Vi employees shared on Glassdoor over the past year.

“I am humbled and honored to be named a Top 100 CEO by Glassdoor,” said Richardson. “The accolade carries even more weight with the knowledge that it is awarded based on the feedback of Vi employees. Our team at Vi is unparalleled in their commitment to excellence and to providing exceptional service and care to our residents. I am grateful to be recognized by such a passionate and dedicated community of people.”

Since joining Vi in 2000, Richardson has led over one billion dollars in new development and established Vi as a first-class operator of senior living communities. Richardson is responsible for company leadership and strategic growth initiatives designed to enhance Vi’s economic value, further the company’s position as an industry leader and support Vi’s 3,000 employees.

Among the approximately 900,000 companies reviewed on Glassdoor, the average CEO approval rating is 69 percent, which Richardson surpassed by 27 percent. When employees submit reviews about their company on Glassdoor, they are asked to rate various factors about their employment experience, including their overall satisfaction and other workplace attributes like senior management. As part of these ratings, employees are also asked to rate whether they approve, disapprove or are neutral about the job their CEO is doing. In employee reviews over the past year, Richardson has been repeatedly praised for his performance.

“It’s an honor to recognize incredible leaders who, from their employees’ perspectives, exemplify exceptional vision, trust and communication. Glassdoor’s Top CEOs award continues to be more competitive every year, and I congratulate each leader on their achievement,” said Christian Sutherland-Wong, Glassdoor president and chief operating officer. “Today’s job seekers are looking for leaders who share their values and will empower them to bring their full selves to work. More and more, we’re seeing Top CEOs make decisions to shape the culture of their organizations to help recruit and retain quality talent, which has a direct correlation to fueling business success.”

With 10 communities located in some of the most desirable neighborhoods in the country from Florida to California, Richardson has helped Vi carve a niche within the senior living industry as a leading national developer, owner and operator of high-end continuing care retirement communities. Vi offers a robust collection of employee benefits as well as a number of training and development programs, including tuition reimbursement, a 24-hour online university, and free Rosetta Stone language training.
