Melissa Evraets of Vi Recognized in Argentum Women in Leadership Series

CHICAGO (August 28, 2025) Vi Senior Living announced that Melissa Evraets, Vice President of Resident Care overseeing clinical and resident services across Vi’s 10 communities nationwide, has been recognized in Argentum’s Women in Leadership initiative for her role as Advisory Board Chair, highlighting the career achievements and leadership of women shaping the future of senior living.

Since joining Vi in 2020, Melissa has overseen the company’s resident care and clinical functions, leading divisions such as clinical care delivery, operations, education, wellness centers, security, concierge, and resident services. In her role, she continues advancing Vi’s commitment to exceptional resident experiences while driving innovation in clinical operations across all communities.

Evraets’ career path reflects a lifelong commitment to growth, service, and leadership. Her introduction to adult aging services began humbly as a dishwasher in a nursing home. She soon pursued a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, later becoming a registered nurse in 2001. Melissa’s first leadership role came as a manager for a cardiac unit, a position she earned through hard work and a willingness to take on new challenges.

“Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to have leaders who took a chance on me in many different areas,” Melissa said. “If it wasn’t for those opportunities — and for Vi — I wouldn’t be where I am today. While I may call it luck, those who know me know it’s really my drive, passion, and work ethic that have propelled me forward.”

Originally from Oklahoma, Melissa spent many years in Kansas before relocating to Chicago for her role at Vi. She is an avid climber and endurance sports enthusiast, often spending time in Colorado with her husband of 30 years, Jon, and their two dogs, Greta and Cooper.
