Employee Spotlight: Michele Libertelli, Vi at Bentley Village's Executive Chef

Bentley Village’s newest Executive Chef, Michele Libertelli, is no stranger to the community’s culinary team. Since joining the Florida community in March 2015 as a Sous Chef, Michele has been a dedicated force in the kitchen. She went on to lead the West Club House for five years before returning to the East Club House, then she was promoted to Executive Sous Chef in 2022. Most recently, in December 2024, she achieved a new milestone—Executive Chef.
For Michele, the best part of working with Vi is the ability to be herself and the strong sense of belonging within the team. “We have our little culinary family that has grown and really come together over the last few years,” she shared.
Inspired by legendary female chefs such as Dominique Crenn, Julia Child, Alice Waters, Nancy Silverton and Mashama Bailey, Michele understands the challenges women face in the culinary industry. Her advice to aspiring female chefs is clear and empowering: “Stick to your core values as you navigate an industry that is difficult for women to climb. Set the standard and lead by it. You will feel discouraged at times but if you maintain your focus and determination, you will achieve your goals.”
Throughout her career, Michele has carried a philosophy of "Constant Never-Ending Improvement." She believes in always learning something new and passing that knowledge to the next generation of chefs. “The culinary industry is in a constant state of motion and evolvement. Don't be afraid to say you don't know something but then go seek out the answer,” said Michele.
As a proud member of the LGBTQI+ community, she is also passionate about fostering inclusivity within the industry. Michele hopes to see more individuals from the community feel welcomed in professional kitchens, where they can build a fulfilling career while feeling authentically themselves. She adds that Vi is that place for her and wants others in that community to see our company as a place where they can feel that too.
